How to Grow Microgreens Without Soil

Posted on August 31, 2021

There are many MicroGreens starter kits available on the market today. Choosing the right microgreens growing starter kit for yourself will really depend on exactly what you plan to plant, how large you plan to grow it, and where you plan to plant it. With that in mind, here’s not a ranked list, just a compilation of different microgreen growing kits recommended. If you’re looking for a kit that will get you started and provide good instructions, check out “Jorge Padrino’s Ultimate Micro Greens”. It’s a great kit with high quality instructions and everything you need.

If you’re growing larger plants like lettuce or radishes, then you might want a MicroGreens starter kit that comes with pots and stakes. The pots hold the microgreens when they’re growing in the soil surface. Plus, the stakes make it easier to keep your plants from getting too much light (UV) or from being damaged by too much rain water. Make sure you check the package for the appropriate pots and stakes, though.

For small plants, there’s another popular Microgreen kit called the Garden Wheatgrass. If you plan on planting just a few small plants like radish seeds, snapdragons, or cucumbers, then a kit like this one will do fine. Most of these kits come with a planting tray that has holes in it. The holes allow air to get to your plants while the roots get all the moisture they need. This kit also comes with an assortment of sprays and fertilizers. If you don’t like to buy pre-packaged stuff, you can always find bags of fertilizer at the store.

A growing tray is a must-have if you’re going to plant anything larger than a couple of seedlings in a pot or a box. The idea behind growing trays is that the roots won’t have to struggle for any nutrients when they get all the moisture they need. However, if you buy a kit with seeds, you might find that there are already included with the seeds. If that’s the case, you may want a kit with a planting tray and seeds. Either way, you’ll probably end up needing more supplies than you thought because growing wheatgrass crops takes a lot of care.

Micro Greens starter kits usually come with their own special set of seeds. You may need to do some research to find exactly what you need. For example, some kits only come with one type of seed, so make sure the kit includes what you need. Most kits have both sunflower seeds and daffodils. The amount of seeds varies from kit to kit. Another important thing to look for in your kit is whether it comes with a router, which is basically a large net filled with grass seeds that allows the roots to attach to it.

The two main parts of a Micro Greens kit are the growing tray and the seed sprouter. The growing tray is essentially the basis of your garden, providing you with the ideal growing conditions for your crop. You should also consider how large of a tray to get based on the number of plants you plan to start. Some kits only contain one growing tray, while others contain two trays side by side. The two-tray system is better for larger seeds because it allows them more room to sprout.

Once you have the microgreens you want, the last thing you need to worry about is planting them. It’s best to plant them on a sunny day when the soil is warm and moist. Then just wait for them to germinate and when the first harvest appears, just take the microgreen tray and remove the plant from the basket.

All in all, the Mountain Valley Seed Company has made a great product that helps new gardeners learn how to effectively grow microgreens. If you’re looking to expand your garden, then this kit is for you. However, if you’re a beginner, you can always purchase a regular kit to get you started. As long as you follow the directions, there shouldn’t be any problems.
